DAILY SCHEDULED PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE
Metrobus core business is to provide public transport service to commuters in the greater Johannesburg Municipality areas. In line with the City it's strategic objectives, the Johannesburg inner city is the hub of Metrobus routes. Metrobus operates a daily scheduled public transport service in the Greater Johannesburg metropolitan covering a total of approximately 330 routes, 128 of which are dedicated school routes.
Metrobus operates on scheduled timetable, stop at designated bus stops, travel at safe speed, have dedicated and motivated drivers who uphold rules of customer service.
Metrobus runs some of its services at highly reduced fares as social responsibility service provision to scholars, pensioners, persons with disabilities and previously disadvantaged communities.
Metrobus cosmopolitan fleet provides a safe, reliable and comfortable bus service that allows commuters to enjoy an easy ride in the busy environment of world-class African cities.

Bus Routes and Festive Timetable
Metrobus has divided its coverage of the city into concentric zones, radiating out from the CBD. Most of the routes start from the inner city bus terminals in Zone 1, with longer trips traversing a number of different zones. For example, a trip from the CBD to Midrand could cross different zones up to eight times.
Bus fares are controlled by the City council and the fee structure is set out in a council by-law.
